The Essen fair was founded 1913 and with 110.000 m² is Germany’s ninth-biggest fair site. In Essen, up to 50 regional, national and international events take place annually, of which 10 are leading trade fairs.
The most renown are Equitanta, world fair for horse sports, construction fair DEBAUKOM, the Essen Motor Show, as well as the international post stamp fair.
The Grugahall Essen and the congress centrum Essen also belong to the fair site. The Grugahall is protected as a historic monument and hosts up to 70 events each year. The congress centrum curates more than 800 congresses with 80.000 participants.

The city of Essen is connected to a developed highway system and very well reachable. The Essen Fair is connected to the motorways A52, 3, 40 and 42. Environmental zone EssenSince 2008, Essen too has got an environmental zone. It is guaranteed that you will reach the fair without a sticker, however. |
Düsseldorf Airport It is best if you travel over Düsseldorf airport, as Essen/Müllheim airport does not offer scheduled flights. Düsseldorf airport is only 25 km away so it takes 20 minutes by car. To the fair locationFrom DUS, take the RE10625 to Essen main station. Then, take the U11 in direction Messe, to reach your destination within 5 minutes. The fair location Essen has more than 7.000 parking spots in direct proximity to the fair. A guide system will navigate you to the respective parking spots. Lots P1, 1a, 3, 5, 6 and P9 each cost up to 8 EUR per day and P2 costs 7 EUR per day.
