Diabetes Kongress 2020 [ABGESAGT] in Berlin

The Diabetes Congress takes place every year and is organized by the German Diabetes Society (DGG). It is the scientific conference of the DGG and informs professional visitors about current developments in the industry and their prospects for the future. Topics related to diabetes mellitus will be discussed, in particular its causes and development, as well as treatment, prevention and care research. The target group of the congress consists of actors from the fields of research, universities, medical practices, industry, consulting and hospitals. It is a meeting place not only for colleagues, but also for health policy decision-makers and pharmaceutical representatives.

In 2019, the Diabetes Congress took place for the 54th time and attracted around 7,000 participants. The main topics were:

• New Diabetes - Classification - Relevance for Diagnosis and Therapy?
• Diabetes: From prevention to remission
• Management of complications/accompanying diseases
• Environment, Psychosocial Burdens and Quality of Life - Tasks for Society and Politics
• Gender & Diabetes

The supporting programme of the 2019 event consisted of free lectures, symposia, workshops and poster presentations, in the course of which the participants were able to exchange ideas and receive further training on specific topics.
