The annual conference of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Epileptologie (German Society for Epileptology) aims to support people with epilepsy so that they experience as few impairments as possible and can lead a successful life. The conference covers a wide range of epileptological topics. Experts will highlight current controversies in dialogue. Epileptic technologies that make everyday life easier will be the focus of the event.
The 55th annual conference of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Epileptologie will take place in 2020. The main topics for this year are:
- Pre-surgical epilepsy diagnostics
- Operative epilepsy therapy
- New developments in monitoring epilepsy patients
- Progress on the way to individualized precision medicine
The supporting programme of the event includes various highlights: a concentrated advanced training programme for epileptological core competencies, an industrial exhibition accompanying the trade fair, and the opening of the conference by the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Simon Gaudenz, the Jena general music director, who is himself an epilepsy patient.
