Leipziger Buchmesse 2020 [ABGESAGT]

The Leipziger Buchmesse is the spring event for the book and media industry. Numerous national and international authors, readers and publishers come together to exchange ideas and discover the latest news in the industry. From non-fiction and audio books to comics and children's books to specialist books and educational media, the trade fair covers just about everything.

The Leipziger Buchmesse 2019 and the Lesefest Leipzig ließt, attracted a total of 286,000 visitors who came to get to know the new publications of more than 2,500 exhibitors from 46 countries. Against the backdrop of a converging Europe, the book fair focused on Eastern, Central and Southern European literature. Nordic, French and Israeli literature were also on display.
The topics of the exhibition areas in 2019 were:

But the Leipziger Buchmesse was also able to boast a varied supporting programme and various additional events. Around 3,400 events were held on the exhibition grounds and throughout the city. The 6th Manga Comic-Con, which took place at the Leipziger Buchmesse, attracted 104,000 visitors. The prize of the Leipzig Book Fair, endowed with 60,000 euros, was also awarded again.
