Jahrestagung der DEGRO 2020 in Wiesbaden

DEGRO stands for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Radioonkologie e.V. and was founded in 1995 as the scientific society of doctors, medical physicists and radiobiologists working in radiooncology in Germany. Today it has over 2,000 members and is dedicated to radiooncology in all its shapes. The annual conference forms a meeting place of the industry, gathers annually well-known representatives of the field and takes up the current developments and trends of medical physics and radiobiology. With its various advanced training programmes and special programmes for students and young scientists, such as refresher courses to prepare for the specialist examination, it is also an attractive event for both the latest and future members of radiooncology.

The annual conference of DEGRO 2020 is the 26th of its kind - it celebrates 25 years of DEGRO and 125 years of X-rays. The date should enable both a review and a reorientation at the same time. The review is to take place in the context of 125 years of X-rays, while the reorientation focuses the future development of the industry and thus of the occupational profile of radiooncologists. In 2018, 3,100 participants attended DEGRO's annual conference and benefited from the programme of 325 speakers. At the accompanying industrial exhibition, 55 exhibitors and sponsors presented their products, innovations and concepts. The main topics for 2020 are:

The accompanying programme of the Annual Conference will be composed of various formats, including Refresher courses, symposia, lecture sessions, industry symposia, highlight sessions and Oxford debates. Various prizes will also be awarded: The Günther von Pannewitz Prize, the Hermann Holthusen Prize, the High Precision Radiotherapy Prize, the Innovation Prize, the Koester Prize and the MTRA Innovation Prize.
