Leipziger Buchmesse 2021 [ABGESAGT]

The Leipzig Book Fair is the event of the book and media industry. 2021, the Leipzig Book Fair will be held together with the reading festival Leipzig liest, the Manga-Comic-Con and the Antiquarian Book Fair. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's Leipzig Book Fair has been postponed to May.
Numerous national and international authors, readers and publishers come together to exchange ideas and discover the latest trends in the industry. Starting with non-fiction and audio books, comics and children's books, and extending to specialist books and educational media, the range on offer covers the entire spectrum of the literary landscape. As an absolute crowd-puller, the perfect platform for publishing new literature and with Europe's largest reading festival in its baggage, the fair is an absolute must for the industry.

In 2021, the Leipzig Book Fair will take place in its usual form. This year's guest country is Portugal. The last Leipzig Book Fair attracted a total of 286,000 visitors in 2019, 62,000 of them trade visitors. On a huge exhibition area of 106,000 m², 2,547 exhibitors from 46 countries awaited visitors with the latest trends, information and publications. The topics for the Leipzig Book Fair 2021 are:

A wide range of events in the fair's supporting program awaits visitors in 2021. The "Leipzig liest" alone accounted for about 3,600 individual events in 2019. Among them the Alfred Kerr Prize, the Leipzig Book Prize for European Understanding and the Kurt Wolff Prize.
