The German Nursing Day was launched in 2014. As the only national event of its kind, it is organized directly by nursing representatives for nursing professionals. Within a decade, German Care Day has become the main event for the care sector in Germany and enjoys both media and political attention. A central concern of the Pflegetag is exchange and dialogue.

The Federal Nursing Chamber e.V., in cooperation with the state nursing chambers and the German Nursing Council e.V., plays a key role in the further development of nursing in Germany. They nominate the members of the program advisory board and are co-organizers of the congress.

Every year, several thousand participants from the nursing sector, politics, business and associations discuss, both on site and online, the evolution of the nursing profession and its significance in society. Together, they develop approaches for overcoming the challenges specific to the sector.
