The acqua alta is a trade fair for flood protection and crisis management. It was founded in 2003 and takes place every two years parallel to the congress Hochwasserrisiko. It is the meeting place for flood experts from the fields of economy, science and politics. In addition to flood protection and crisis management, the focus lies also on flood prevention and coastal protection.
Around 3,000 visitors are expected at acqua alta 2020, who will be able to obtain advice from the 50 exhibitors on the latest trends, products, services and strategies on the 2,000 m² of exhibition area. The transfer of knowledge between all those involved - including authorities, municipalities, architects, engineers and urban planners - is the main focus of the fair.
