Mode Heim Handwerk is North Rhine-Westphalia's largest consumer fair. It was founded in 1969 and has taken place every year since then. Its unique range of experiences is extended by various PLUS fairs, so that every visitor group can find their highlight. Diverse special shows and activities as well as a wide range of programmes characterise Mode Heim Handwerk and invite visitors to enjoy their stay.
In 2019 Mode Heim Handwerk celebrated its 50th anniversary. More than 40,000 visitors came to the Essen fairgrounds to be introduced to the latest trends, products and highlights by the more than 700 exhibitors. The fair was accompanied by five PLUS fairs: kreativ.essen, the Gesund&Aktiv, the tierlieb.NRW, the Urlaubsträume powered by Reise + Camping and the NRW - Das Beste aus der Region. The topics for 2020 are:

Numerous special offers, special shows and events will take place as part of the trade fair's supporting programme. Visitors in 2019 particularly enjoyed the Styling & Beauty Lounge, the "Die Gute Form - Tischler gestalten ihr Gesellenstück" competition, the theatre stage and the live cooking stage.
