SPIEL'20 [ABGESAGT] 2020 in Essen

As the world's largest public fair for games, the SPIEL International Games Days have been setting standards in the games industry since 1983. Every year, the fair gives visitors the opportunity to get to know the full range of national and international games. As the industry's most important meeting place, it is also the perfect platform for the market launch of new products. Trade partners, licensees, journalists and gaming enthusiasts meet here. The entire range of games will be on display, including: Parlour, family, adult and children's games as well as strategy, adventure, role-playing, fantasy, miniature and science fiction games, as well as electronic games and toys. The special concept of the trade fair is that interested visitors have the opportunity to immidiately play and buy the products exhibited at each stand.

More than 209,000 gaming enthusiasts from 53 countries travelled to the SPIEL '19. They received advice on products, innovations and concepts on an enormous exhibition area of 86,000 m². A total of 1,200 exhibitors presented their games at the fair. In addition, all four days of the fair could be followed by all those who could not be there via Twitch in a livestream.

In 2019, an extensive supporting programme ensured an all-round successful trade fair experience. Most of the exhibitors held small and large competitions. Authors signed their games at special stands, introductory rounds, lectures, panels, a design competition and Educators Day took place. Championships and tournaments were held and the German Games Prize and the innoSPIEL Innovation Prize were also awarded.
