Leipziger Buchmesse 2027

The Leipzig Book Fair 2027 will take place from March 18 to 21, 2027 at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre. It is an important meeting place for everyone from the book and media industry. Readers, authors, publishers and media from Germany and abroad will come together to discuss new products and the diversity of literature and to gain new perspectives. The fair offers a platform for the promotion of literature and reading.

The specialist program offers a colourful mix of specialist lectures, discussions and special advisory services. Visitors can also benefit first-hand from new publications and experience authors live at readings and book signings. There is also the opportunity to visit the Manga-Comic-Con and the Leipzig Antiquarian Book Fair, which take place at the same time as the book fair.

In 2026, the fair set a new visitor record with 313,000 visitors and 2,044 exhibitors from 45 countries. The reading festival “Leipzig reads” offered over 3,100 events at 300 reading venues with around 3,000 participants. Highlights included the awarding of the Leipzig Book Fair Prize and new formats such as the Audio World and the “Humans and AI” forum.
